Treatment/ concept ( presentation) P2 (a)
First choice:This is my first choice for the music video. First of all, I like the music quite a lot.
The basic idea of this song is to escape, to run away. As the chorus is, " I wanna run away, I wanna run away, anywhere out this place." This line gives the audience the impression of "break free".
Second choice:
This is my 2nd choice. I chose this because I like the music also, and it is about the singer feeling alone all the time.I think it will be quite easy to do a music video.
Third choice:
This is my 3rd choice, this is a bit similar to the first choice, it is also about escaping and running away with the beloved ones. The lyrics is quite easy to build up a music video.
I have done a keynote to present all my ideas:
This is the cover of my presentation. The story of my music video is the rebellion of 2 boys in the school, and how they escape from reality and stress at school, this is also a story about friendship. In this music video, audiences will see how the boys have fun and fool around in the school and the woods.
Here is the lyrics of the song I would use for my music video, I would make some shots related to the lyrics.
For example, "I wanna run away, anywhere out this place." I would ask my actors to run and film their back while they are running.
These are the locations that I would film my music video, due to the convenience, and there are some nice place to film, we decided to use the school as the background of the music video, we have decided to use the grass field, sports hall, classrooms, path to Austen House, lockers room from Kent College, and the woodland next to the UKC gym.
In this music video, I would like my actors to wear casually, because my theme my the music video is about friendship and wonderful memories between them. I would like my audiences to feel comfortable watching the actors. Wearing casual wears would make the audiences feel easier to get into the emotions of the actors, so easier to understand them.
To emphasis the emotions of the actors and also making the audience to have more have sensation visually, I decided to use montages, fades, slow motions and flash-forward.
Montages: Some scenes will look blurry, making the audience know that the memory isn't very stable.
Fades: To make the video looks more mysterious and sometimes changing the lighting of that scene.
Slow motions: To allow audiences enjoy the scene clearer and emphasis the importance of that scene, also creating special feelings to them.
Flash- forward: This is a music video about the memories of a pair of good friends, so flash- forward will stand out that this is a memory and also making some particular scenes more outstanding.
In this music video, we do not have large numbers of cast and crews, but we have enough people for this. For the performers, we have Kent Tam as actor A and Bosco Ng as actor B. And we have Mika Ao as our camera woman, and me- Annabelle Wong as props and acting director. We also have potential actors, which means other actors but do not have many scenes to act, we have invited Peter Yu to act the teacher part.
As I mentioned in the keynote, our target audience could be anyone, because our music video does not contain violence, adultery, nudity or bloody scenes. The music video will bring out freedom, which is escaping from the reality, and narrating the story and friendship of these 2 actor.
However, this music video will be more likely to attract teenagers or young adults, because the music is electronic, so is more popular among the youngsters.
