Music videos that I like or dislike

Here is the example of music video that I like or appreciate:

  I like this music video because it is very special and unique. It has a content, which is 2 person who is in relationship, and how the effect combine each other together. For example you can the man's face on the woman's back, how you can see the woman's face on the piece of glass that the guy is holding, or you can see a pair of blue eyes appearing on the woman's sleeves. 
   The thing I like the most is the lighting and angles in the video, and how everything is so detailed, it also combined with nature elements, for example clouds, lightning and sunshine, which makes it mere stylish, and links it to the song name - Style.

Editing: The editing is quite interesting in this music video, it combines different stuff with the human beings, and do not overlap ideas, this make audiences feel interested to it.

Narrative: This song is about the complicated relationship between this couple, because the lyrics said, " It's been a while since I have even heard from you." and " I shall just tell you to leave cause I, know exactly where it leads but I, watch it go round and round each time." These 2 lines of lyrics tell the audiences that they are struggling to forget each other. Then the chorus is "Cause you got that James Dean's daydream look in your eye, and I got the red lip classic things that you'd like. Then we go crashing down we come back every time, we never go out of style, we never go our of style." This shows that they try to forget each other but it is very difficult because the other is always in their body and it is unforgettable.

Camera angles: This video is filmed in many different angles. It has used high shot, low shot, medium level shot, super close-ups, close-ups, from the left or from the right. Which makes the audiences more sensitive to the camera.

Mis-en-scene: 

Costume: In the video, the theme is white and simple, I can see that through the costumes, because both the actor always wear white shirt or in plain black. There are no colourful costumes in this video.

Location:Hercules cave in Tangier, Morroco.

Acting: The 2 actors in the video do not have much acting skills. What they do most of the time in the video is to look at the camera or look at some angles without any emotions on their face,and they have simple posing.

Props: 
In this video they used:
-White cloth
-Broken pieces of glass
-Broken mirror
-A car 
Not much props are used but some props like the mirror and broken pieces of glass are used repeatedly.


 Here is the example of music video I dislike:



  I dislike this music video because of varies reason. I personally think that the song is quite good. But the music video is very pointless, the singer is just sitting on the wrecking ball naked and spinning around, it is more like a sexual video than a music video. And there is no meaning of the model licking the hammer naked too. I think this music video totally ruined the song and the singer. And this video is more likely promoting the singer, it is not creative enough and makes me feel uncomfortable. Although it sticks to the song name pretty much, but I dislike its style.

Editing:
The editing is normal in this video, it has close-ups, full body shots, and also half body shots. It also has a few high shots.

Narrating:
" We clawed, we chained, our hearts in vain. We jumped, never asking why. We kissed I fell under your spell a love no one could deny." The first line of the lyrics tells that the singer has got a really unforgettable relationship, and she describes how memorable it is. " Don't you ever say, I just walked away, I will always want you. I can't live a lie, running for my life, I will always want you." This 2 lines show that the guy is lying behind her. This is a sad song.

Camera angles: 
In this video, it uses quite a lot of angles, for example high shots, low shots, medium shots, full body shots and close-ups.

Mis-en-scene: 

Costume: The costume is white and naked. 

Location: No information

Acting: The only person is acting is the singer. At the beginning of the music video, she has to be crying without any other emotions on her face, she has to be sad and emotionally in the whole video.
